California Contemporary - Architect’s Home
Orange County, California
Built in 2004, this North Tustin hillside home was designed, built and is currently owned by a prominent Laguna Beach, CA architect. Inspired by a 20 year career as a restaurant and residential architect, this home has a contemporary exterior with a warm, ethnic infused interior that draws from his work on the House of Blues entertainment venue and exclusive HOB Foundation Rooms.
The Indian temple front door frame and hand carved wood entry columns are hundred year old artifacts that were imported from India to be housed specifically in the home. The media room hosts a Thai inspired wood paneled pyramid ceiling, creating a warm and intimate setting to relax with friends and family.
Having lived in lofts in both Philadelphia and Toronto, the architect created an open concept kitchen/dining/living room space that is an entertainer's dream, with sliding doors that open up to views of downtown LA, Catalina Island and the San Gabriel Mountains.
The kitchen is spacious and modern with a European feel and has stainless steel appliances, granite counter, high ceilings, motorized skylight, and glass door walk-out to BBQ deck. A private office is located off the kitchen area.
The home features a modern master bathroom with oversized bath and separate shower, dual vanity and two large walk-in closets.
There is a large multi-purpose room that can be used as a bonus room, second master bedroom suite or office on the lower floor of the home. There is a walkout to an outdoor shower with spectacular sunset views.
